Afriupdate.com’s user-admins Matt Koller, Ash Bohra and Tushar Rhode join editors Meghna Sengupta and Eugene Vasilyev to rate the players.
All the ratings are the averages, each mark is rounded
Harry Maguire – 8/10
Eugene: “Initiated quite a number of attacks while being rock solid at the back, made one crucial tackle at the end of the first half.”
Meghna: “He often doesn’t get enough credit for the work he does. Maguire looked powerful against Wolves and that clean sheet speaks volumes.”
Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10
Tushar: “Got somewhat lucky with the assist, and plucky as always, but he needs a rest for sure, looked quite scratchy. Should have scored in the first half.”
Ash: “Tried gamefully. Wolves kept him off for long times. Got back in the second half.”
Luke Shaw – 8/10
Ash: “Added potency both in defence and attack. Looks likely to stay ahead of Telles in the pecking order.”
Meghna: “Make no mistake, Telles has his merits. But when it comes to good old defending, there is no better choice than Shaw for us at left-back.”
Marcus Rashford – 8/10
Ash: “Had a difficult game against a tight defence. Produced the goods when it mattered. Never say die attitude.”
Matt: “Just keeps going, he is involved always in our best chances.”
Eric Bailly – 9/10
Matt: “Defended everything, crosses, loose balls, counters brilliant.”
Ash: “Looking better with game time.”
Meghna: “If he can stay injury-free, Bailly is the one for us.”
The rest: De Gea – 8.5, Telles – 5, Wan-Bissaka – 6, Matic – 7.5, Pogba – 7, Greenwood – 6, Cavani – 7.
