Arsenal keep a close eye on 28-year-old Serie A star

The Spanish manager has to be one coach watching the upcoming winter transfer window with interest. Far too many of his London giants footballers have underperformed in the 2020/21 PL campaign, and so the opening of another window gives Mikel Arteta a chance to freshen up his Arsenal squad.

With Mesut Ozil having been banished to the sidelines by the Spanish coach, and with no explanation given to boot, the Gunners have looked devoid of creativity in the current season.

Though there is the chance to bring him back into the fold, another option has opened up which could be of more interest to the coach. “Yes, I can confirm that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list. He’s going to leave in January,” Inter Milan chief executive, Giuseppe Marotta said.

“He’s not functional to our plans and he had difficulty here at Inter. I think it’s right that Christian goes away to find more space.” Denmark international will need to be convinced to move back to the PL, particularly if it’s to Tottenham’s north London rivals.

Heading into the festive set of games, the Gunners are way down in 15th in the PL table having only scored 12 goals in their 14 matches to date in the 2020/21 season.
