Arsenal closely monitoring €35m-rated South American striker

The London giants have reportedly been given the chance to seal the transfer of Valencia striker Maxi Gomez. The 24-year-old centre-forward has caught the eye in La Liga in recent times, impressing at both current club Valencia and previous employers Celta Vigo.

It now looks like Maxi is ready to be made available this winter due to Valencia’s financial woes, with Gunners listed as one of the striker’s main suitors in a report. Gunners could do with adding more quality to their front-line after a terrible start to the campaign, and Gomez could be just the solution for the Spanish manager.

Wolves are interested in Uruguay international, while Liverpool are mentioned as being among the teams to have monitored him in the past. It looks clear the Uruguayan centre-forward has what it takes to shine in the PL, and it will be interesting to see if he gets a winter move.

Valencia need to sell footballers, which means Maxi could leave for considerably less than his £125m release clause. The London giants, meanwhile, are looking completely toothless in attack at the moment, with the Spanish manager making the risky decision to axe Mesut Ozil from his squad this campaign.
