Shearer has praised the Uruguayan for his cameo against Leicester Ciy.
The former Newcastle United striker loved Cavani’s movement leading up to Bruno’s goal and how he set up that strike.
Speaking about Edinson Cavani’s impact in Man United’s draw against Leicester City, Alan Shearer said (as quoted by Daily Star): “There were two great examples of movement, touch, technique and bringing people into the game from [Jamie] Vardy and Cavani.
“Cavani tends to take the ball on the half turn, which is great as too many times I see centre forwards collecting the ball with their back to goal. He has great awareness and provided a lovely through ball (for the Fernandes goal).
“It was absolutely magnificent and his technique was spot on. They [Cavani and Vardy] are two very good forwards.”
Cavani’s movement and overall work for Bruno Fernandes’ goal against Leicester was truly world-class and proves why he should play more minutes for United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that the Uruguayan won’t play all the time until he properly adapts himself to the Premier League and El Matador seems to be working hard to consolidate a regular place for himself in the lineup.
