A young Man United fan walked from his home at Cheshire to Old Trafford in an attempt to raise money that can help transform his school playground.
Harvey Goodman, a student of Stockton Heath in Warrington, completed the 15-mile walk amid heavy rain and cold weather.
The child was accompanied with former United player Sammy Mcllroy, his classmates and teachers.
Goodman ended up raising over £7,000 around half an hour before they reached Old Trafford.
He also received a special letter from United, which read: “Dear Harvey, We have heard about the fantastic challenge you have set yourself.
“We wanted to show our support so there are a few items to keep you warm on your walk. We are all proud of you at United and commend your efforts to raise money for the school.
“Good luck! Your friends at Manchester United.”
The money will be used to resurface the Astroturf football pitch in Goodman’s school, along with building a mud kitchen, digging area, sand pit and hiding areas.
