Pedri
Pedri is only 17 years old but he already plays like a senior, and Ronald Koeman even trusted him with a starting place vs Real Madrid. So far, the youngster has proven that he can provide the creativity we’ve been lacking at Barcelona for a while. Despite not being a La Masia graduate, Pedri has shown he already knows what the ‘Barca way’ is all about.
Ansu Fati
Ansu Fati is one of, if not the most, promising players in the world at the moment. The La Masia graduate has recently become the youngest Clasico goalscorer and now is the holder of four incredible records. For his age, Anssumane is really calm and composed in front of goal. If he improves his decision-making, we’ll have our centre-forward position secured for the next 10 to 15 years at least.
Frenkie de Jong
2020/21 is the season that Frenkie de Jong needs to prove that he’s ready to become the main man in Barcelona’s midfield. The Dutchman is the oldest player on our list that’s why we believe he should be the first one to step up his game and, hopefully, he’ll become the leader of the next generation of talents at Camp Nou.
Riqui Puig
Although Ronald Koeman doesn’t yet trust the youngster, Riqui Puig proved last season that he has the quality to succeed at Barca if given the chance. Now that Philippe Coutinho has picked up an injury, perhaps Puig will get his opportunity to shine in the upcoming matches.
Sergino Dest
Although it will never be possible to replace Dani Alves, Sergino Dest definitely has a chance to get close to the Brazilian’s level. The 19-year-old’s performance vs Madrid has proven that he can be equally good both in attack and defence and that he can be trusted with a starting role despite his age and lack of experience.
Ronald Araujo
Barca decided to trust Ronald Araujo over Jean-Clair Todibo and, for now, doesn’t seem like it was the wrong decision. The Uruguayan has already made nine appearances for the first team and besides the Sevilla match — when he picked up a red card only 14 minutes after entering the pitch — Araujo has never played a bad match for us.
