According to Onda Cero, Barcelona will be playing their home games at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium (officially Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys) during the 2023/24 season. The reason for it is the planned renovation of Camp Nou.
And if Barca end up signing the sponsorship deal with Spotify, the new stadium will be called Spotify-Camp Nou.

As for Montjuic, here are the three key things to know.

1. Built in 1927

The stadium was originally built in 1927 for the 1929 International Expo in Barcelona.

2. Host of 1992 Olympics

Montjuic was the main venue of the 1992 Summer Olympics. The stadium had to be renovated two years prior.

3. Smaller than Camp Nou

The stadium has a capacity of 60,713. There are almost 40,000 more seats at Camp Nou.

4. Espanyol used to play there

Interestingly, our city rivals Espanyol played their home games at the Montjuic between 1997 and 2009. The stadium hasn’t hosted any other major footballing events since then, however.

The stadium is owned by the City Council of Barcelona, and Espanyol used to pay a fee to be able to play there. Barca will likely have to do the same.

Ande here is what the stadium looks like.
