4 reasons why Barca fans may hate Laporta

There has been some harsh criticism of Joan Laporta’s presidential spell lately.

Some Cules are afraid that the upcoming transfer campaign will be almost as upsetting as the last summer’s when we lost Leo Messi and failed to strengthen the squad with big players.

Here we are listing the reasons why Barcelona fans may hate Laporta these days.

1. Messi exit

Almost a year has passed since Leo’s sudden departure, yet it’s something the fans can’t forget in a moment.

On the one hand, Barca’s rebuild is probably going more smoothly with Leo; on the other, the team have clearly become less effective without the Argentine who would singlehandedly win us plenty of points throughout the years.

2. False Haaland hopes

The Haaland-to-Barca saga was dragging for several months until Xavi stated that it was actually ‘impossible’ for the club to sign the superstar Norwegian.

Was it just politics, the way to convince the fans that we’re still a big club capable of pulling off some massive deals? Right now, it seems so.

3. Lack of action ahead of summer transfer campaign

Barcelona were expected to finalise the sale of Barca Studios and sign the CVC agreement – both deals would likely help the club comfortably operate in the transfer market.

With a few weeks to go until the summer transfer window is opened, none of these deals is done and Laporta is said to be ‘reluctant’ to sign the CVC deal for some reason.

Credible sources say we can’t even register our new players – Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie – for financial reasons. And this while dreaming of Robert Lewandowski’s arrival.

4. Struggles to find new clubs for out-of-favour players

According to the latest reports, there is a list of those benchwarmers who don’t plan to leave the club despite being out of favour on the team.

Rumour has it some of them could now stay at the club, including Clement Lenglet who is obviously not the first-team material.
