Chelsea having scored only 5 goals in their last 6 games isn’t because the shot opportunities aren’t there to be taken.

Here’s the list of players that are averaging the most shot-creating actions per 90 in the Premier League this season as shared by The Athletic:

Hakim Ziyech is 3rd on the list, having firmly established himself as Chelsea’s main creative threat since his arrival.

Mason Mount ranks 6th in the league despite having been moved into a more conservative midfield role this season.

His 4.56 creations per 90 are only behind outright attacking midfielders, the likes of Jack Grealish, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne.

With Thomas Tuchel recently praising Mount’s attitude and tenacity, it is important to remember the massive leaps he has made in terms of sheer footballing ability this season.

With these numbers, it’s clear that Chelsea simply need to shoot better with the onus on the likes of Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham to start delivering quickly.
