The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), yesterday, disclosed that power generation to the national grid has hit 5,459.50 megawatts.

General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, Ndidi Mba, said the power was transmitted through the national grid at a frequency of 50.26Hz about 8.15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

Also, the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) will today commence distribution of free meters to Nigerians with the launch of the scheme in Kano, Kaduna, Eko, and Ikeja Distribution Companies (DisCos) franchise areas.

This is in response to President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to ensure mass metering to end estimated billings in the country’s electricity sector.
