Zambian High Commissioner in Nigeria, Dr. Solomon Samuel, has expressed concern over the security situation in the country.
The envoy, who spoke ahead of the International Peace Concert billed for Saturday in Abuja, expressed the readiness of his home country to assist Nigeria in tackling terrorism and banditry.

Recalling the role Nigeria played in the liberation of Zambia and other southern African countries from the apartheid regime, Samuel disclosed that Zambia was willing to partner with Nigeria in the training of security personnel to tackle insecurity in the country.

The concert themed ‘Hope in troubled times,’ according to him, will have singing groups from Nigeria and Ghana perform to seek divine intervention in addressing security challenges.
He added: “The Seventh Day Adventist Church has come up with a brilliant method of enhancing peace. To this effect, Zambia would want to identify with the Adventist Church. Because our brothers and sisters in Nigeria, who are grappling with insecurity, Zambia cannot stand idle and watch them face acts of terrorism.”
MEMBERS of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), known as Shiites, have accused security agencies in the country of masterminding a report against the Islamic body. The report alleged that the Shiites were plotting a protest to destabilise the country.

According to IMN, such a report by the nation’s security organs was meant to discredit the Shiites and create an avenue to steal scarce resources.

Besides, the Islamic body faulted the United Nations Department of Safety and Security office in Abuja over the statement it issued on October 5, 2021, over a purported seven-day mass protest.
In a statement by the President of its Media Forum, Ibrahim Musa, the Islamic group said: “We would like to categorically declare that IMN under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has no plans for any protest that was supposed to have started a week ago.”

HOWEVER, the Tiv Youth Council Worldwide has faulted the claim by the former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Daniel Saror, that there were subterranean plot to Islamise the country.

The Tiv group, led by Mike Msuaan, stated this in Abuja, yesterday.
Commenting on the security challenges in the country recently in Makurdi, Saror, a two-term senator for Benue North-East, stated that the security situation was not an accident but a planned agenda and coordinated agenda to conquer, Islamise and spread the caliphate in the country by highly connected, well-funded and motivated Boko Haram elements.

The group insisted that Saror should submit details of his findings to security agencies rather than create a panic situation in the minds of the people.
