The World Igbo Congress (WIC) on Tuesday asked Nigerians with South-South and South-East background across the globe to remember Biafra heroes on Sunday, 30 May, 2021 by 2 pm.

WIC is a Houston-based sociopolitical organization that says it promotes the Igbo people’s interests in Nigeria.

Its latest directive was disclosed in a statement released by Barrister Austin Okeke. As of the time of publishing this report, AllNews could not independently establish Okeke’s position in WIC.

Recall that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had earlier ordered members and people of the South-East to withdraw from any social, political and economic activities in the country on May 31, as a tribute to their brave fallen heroes.

“Southern and Middle Belt indigenous Nigerians, sit-at-home on the above dates and boycott Fulani cow meat,” the statement read.
