A yet-to-be identified man has allegedly attempted to kill President Muhammadu Buhari in Kebbi on Thursday 12th March 2020.

As seen in the video below, the man moved speedily towards him while the Nigerian leader was taking photograph with governors Atiku Bagudu and Muhammad Badaru Abubakar in Kebbi state.

This online news medium reports that the Nigerian leader was in Kebbi, northwest Nigeria, to declare open the Argungu Fishing and Cultural Festival.

But during a photo session, something unexpected happened.

A young man walked briskly towards Buhari. This made the area panicky.

Nigeria’s Minister for Health Osagie Ehanire displays an image of the the novel coronavirus COVID-19 as he address the media regarding the first case of the virus confirmed in Nigeria during a press briefing in Abuja on February 28, 2020. – Ehanire said in a statement overnight that the infected person was an Italian citizen who flew in from Milan, at the heart of Europe’s largest outbreak, earlier this week. Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country with some 190 million people, is viewed as one of the world’s most vulnerable to the spread of the virus given its weak health system and high population density.
