A report that Nigerian Billionaire businessman, Obi Cubana is still in the custody of the Anti-graft Agency has emerged.

Recall that Afriupdate News earlier disclosed that reports had emerged that the socialite had been set free and had also made a post via his Instagram page thanking everyone for their support.

However, Saharareporters has revealed that the businessman is still in the custody of the EFCC and has been granted administrative bail which is customary of the institution after holding an individual after 24hrs.

The source said: “It is routine that once anyone is detained beyond a day, we give ‘Administrative Bail’ conditions but he is still with them because he hasn’t met the conditions.

“He has not been released yet contrary to some reports.” a source in the EFCC told the publication.

The conditions for the administrative bail have however not been verified.

Obi Cubana was apprehended by the EFCC on Monday, October 1st, and held on the grounds of money laundering and tax fraud. The 46-year-old who is from Anambra state is into hospitality and entertainment business. Obi Cubana was the talk of the town in July during the burial celebration of his late mother. The socialite was gifted over 200 cows and lots of celebrities and politicians were in attendance.

Most Nigerians have questioned the source of the socialite wealth while others have tagged him as a businessman who works for his money.
