The Academic Staff Union of Universities issued a three-week ultimatum to the Federal Government on Monday for failure to meet outstanding requests.

This is as the Senior Staff Association of Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities met today to discuss future steps following the Federal Government’s inability to satisfy the union’s requests.

Afriupdate News reports that the Federal Government had signed a memorandum of understanding with the unions last year and had promised to fulfill demands ranging from payment of earned allowances, introduction of the UTAS platform for University workers, payment of revitalization fund for Universities among others.

Speaking at the University of Abuja on Monday, the Union’s National President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, bemoaned the Federal Government’s unwillingness to address the union’s requirements, leaving them with no choice.
