Last week, a 37-year-old Gosiame Sithole reportedly gave birth to decuples, seven boys and three girls at a Pretoria hospital, grabbing headlines all over the world.
Afriupdate News learnt that the story of a 37-year-old woman who reportedly gave birth to 10 babies, seven boys and three girls, has led to public appeals from the South African government for information about the mother and her children after it failed to find medical records at hospitals, both public and private.
News of Gosiame Sithole delivering the 10 babies at a Pretoria hospital may have grabbed headlines all over the world, but also sparked questions over its authenticity.

Meanwhile, a statement from the Tsotetsi family has debunked the claims. The Tsotetsi family met on Tuesday 15th June 2021 at their family house in Tembisa. The meeting was also attended by extended family members and close friends and received a report from Gosiame Sithole’s boyfriend Tebogo Tsotetsi. Tebogo confirmed that he has not seen the decuplets and relied on his girlfriend who called to inform him of their birth. He revealed that he made several attempts to visit his girlfriend and the babies but she has failed to disclose her whereabouts and the condition of their babies.

“The current uncertainties and public discourse about the decuplets is of major concern to the family, especially in the absence of any proof of the decuplets existence other than telephonic and whatsapp messages from the mother.

“The family has resolved and concluded that there are no decuplets born between Tebogo Tsotetsi and Gosiame Sithole, until proven otherwise and wishes to apologise for any inconvenience and embarrassment.
