Ramadan: Sultan of Sokoto confirms sighting of moon, fasting begins Saturday

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has confirmed the sighting of the moon.

This signals the beginning of Ramadan fasting period.

Abubakar, in a live broadcast on Friday, announced that the Ramadan fast will begin on Saturday.

The Sultan is also the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).
