As the dust generated by the establishment of Amotekun security outfit by South West governor is yet to settle, the Nigeria Police high has commenced the recruitment of constabulary policemen to boost its workforce.

Consequently, the Lagos State Command has set up a screening committee comprising community leaders and divisional police officers (DPOs) across the state. Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Hakeem Odumosu, disclosed this in an interview after a stakeholders meeting in Lagos yesterday.

He hinted that the recruitment exercise was a directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to be implemented by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu. Odumosu pointed out that the recruitment would boost the ranks of the force, saying the constabulary would be assigned all police duties.
