The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has asked Nigerians to get the new national identification card.

In a public notice yesterday, it officially informed the citizens about the development.

On its official Twitter handle @nimc_ng, the notice read: “The old National Identity Card has since been discontinued. If you still hold the old ID card, you should enroll for the National Identification Number (NIN).

“Visit any NIN enrolment centre today to obtain your NIN and be identified for life.”
