The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria, Sadiya Farouq has revealed that she charged State Focal Persons of the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIPs) “to continue to discharge their duties with diligence and commitment, especially with implementation”.

It would be recalled that Farouq earlier said she has “directed Focal Persons of NSIPs in all the states to submit an updated list and details of the exited N-Power beneficiaries that are interested in participating in the transition plans of the ministry”.

This online news medium had reported that State Focal Persons of the NSIPs, Program Managers, and State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU) Officers held an interactive session in Abuja, FCT, with Farouq.

There, they made presentations highlighting the impact and challenges of the NSIPs.

Gunmen raided and ransacked a group of villages there, local sources said, in one of the worst attacks this year blamed on heavily armed criminal gangs. The N-Power programme was introduced in 2016 with the aim of reducing unemployment among Nigerian graduates and non-graduates between the ages of 18 and 35.

The graduate volunteers are paid ₦30,000 (approximately 83 US Dollars) monthly as stipends and given tablet computers to aid further learning.
