The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) portal for N-Power Batch C applicants has closed.

A piece of information on the NASIMS portal showed that the application (the mandatory online test) closed on the 11th of May, 2021.

Afriupdate News understands that a huge number of Nigerian youths have applied for the N-Power scheme since the registration portal for its Batch C commenced on the 26th of June 2020.

Registration of Batch C of N-Power closed on Sunday 9th of August, 2020, with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development later inaugurating the NASIMS portal in March 2021.

The portal was developed “for ease of coordination, deployment and management of the selection process”, according to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

According to Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, all applicants had been migrated onto the NASIMS platform. She added during the inauguration of the NASIMS portal in March that the N-Power Batch C applicants would undergo a mandatory online test as part of the selection process.

This online news medium reports that the main components of the N-Power Batch C programme would be for one year, while participants would get a monthly stipend of N30,000 (around 73 US Dollars) each.

The N-Power Batch C is structured to onboard one million new beneficiaries, beginning with an initial 500,000 beneficiaries in the first stream.

NASIMS is the central management platform for the administration and coordination of Social Investment Programmes under the Nigerian Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

The National Social Investment Program (NSIP) of Nigeria is a social welfare initiative created by the Federal government in 2015 under the direction of the National Social Investment Office (NSIO).

According to Nigerian authorities, the NSIP was “created to ensure a more equitable distribution of resources to vulnerable populations, including children, youth, and women”.

The four main programs under the NSIP are N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP), and the National Home Grown School Feeding Program (NHGSFP). N-Power is the most popular.
