A man identified as Lukeman Kabiru has been stabbed to death by his neighbor, Murtala Dare, on Sunday night at a popular bar in Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to reports, the suspect, a 32-year-old welder, has a penchant for collecting fees for the use of a spot for a quickie behind a building. He wanted to beat a prostitute for taking a customer to the quickie spot around 11:00 pm without payment, so he interrupted their romp and threatened to beat the girl for not paying.

However, Lukeman, who was a carpenter and father of two, stopped him from assaulting the lady. Angered by the deceased’s move, Murtala broke a bottle and stabbed him on the neck.

Lukeman was confirmed dead and Murtala was arrested by the police.
