Five hundred and fifty-four indigenes of Katsina State will be used as pilot constables for the commencement of community policing in the state. This followed their graduation in Kaduna Police College.

Spokesperson for Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah, stated yesterday that the constables would carry arms and do normal police work in their communities.

“A total of 554 special constables of Katsina origin passed out from the premier Police College, Kaduna,” he said.

Addressing the constables at the Command Headquarters, Katsina, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba, urged them to be upright, discipline and dedicated to duty.
