Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described former Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang, as a man of vision who is jealously following the footsteps of the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon in uniting the people.

The comment came on the heels of Governor Simon Lalong allegedly avoiding Jonathan and Jang, yesterday, at an important function in Jos attended by the duo.

Lalong came to the state on Thursday after staying away for some time only to jet out yesterday morning to Abuja, claiming to have an emergency official call. He was seen at the Jos airport jetting out.

The governor was not represented by his deputy but by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Istafanus Finangwuai who was booed by the crowd at every word he uttered.

Jonathan, who was chairman of the occasion on “10 Commandments Prayer Altar” built and dedicated to God and humanity, said Gowon and Jang, in their military days, used the guns to bring Nigeria together when it was in disarray.

Jang, according to him, was a fine soldier who was later a military governor, a civilian governor and later a Senator.

“We pray that when we live on earth and we die, we should leave a good legacy behind. What do you want to be remembered for when you die? Jang has done many physical things but this one is the most important.

“Not many can mobilise funds to do this. I have been challenged. What can I be remembered for when I die?,” Jonathan asked.

Jang, the chief host, praised the former president for his historical saying that his ambition is not worth the shedding of any Nigerian’s blood, pointing out that the saying was not out of cowardice.

Jang noted that Jonathan’s saying has never been said or put into practice after that by any politician.
He acknowledged the untiring efforts of all those that contributed to the development of the structures and preparations for the dedication of Yeshua Kingdom Foundation Ministry International.

He said he avails the platform where people can cry unto the Lord for the many ills that bedevil Plateau and the nation at large.

“Our peace, prosperity, unity, health, indivisibility as a nation is in the place of prayer. And as Christians, we must pray into existence the very things we want our Father to make happen in our dear country.”

Jang enumerated the vision of the project to include holistic discipleship and transforming generations across nations, advancing the Kingdom of God through making obedient disciples who will continue to multiply and rendering assistance to the needy in the society.

The event was attended by people from all walks of life.
