The Imo State Government has said schools will reopen in the state only when the body conducting COVID-19 test in the 27 councils has completed its assignment.

The Federal Government shut down schools in the country in March because of the outbreak of the pandemic.

Addressing journalists after the weekly State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting presided over by Governor Hope Uzodimma yesterday, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said the state government has so far received the report of the community testing in six councils.

Emelumba said 24 people tested positive for the virus out of 1,000 people tested in the six councils.
