Nigerians have been admonished to complement their spiritual healing with proper medical care when expressing any form of illness

Making this appeal during a Medical Fair organized by Redeem Christian Church of God, RCCG Radio, the Host of My Health Show, Oluwadamilola Omola, said many people neglect the importance of going for medical check-up while relying solely on God for healing.

Oluwadamilola said being a Christian does not stop people from going for medical check-up as God work requires people to be healthy.

“We must not mix things together, truly God is the healer but that shouldn’t prevent us from seeking medical care.

“At RCCG Radio, we understand the important of healthy living that is why we are putting this medical fair together which feature free medical test, free drugs and medical counselling. My Health Show which is the organizer of this programme have been in existence for over five years but this is our first medical fair and we hope to make it an annual event.

Oluwadamilola who expressed excitement over the turnout said that wellness goes beyond eating right, “people now know that they really need to invest in their health which include going for medical check-up. For those that tested negative to some of the test, we advised them to keep it while those positive, we referral them to appropriate health facility. It’s of good benefits when you know your status on time.

Echo Lab representative at the Medical Fair, Bukola Daniel, said they tested people for blood pressure level, glucose level, malaria and Body Mass Index among others.

He said:“All these things are pointer to most of the silent diseases that ravage our society.

“knowing our status will help us in preventing things like hypertension, heart attack, sudden death, diabetes among others. Getting tested shouldn’t be until we are sick. This medical fair is one of the ways we contribute to the overall health of Nigerians and we are happy to partner with RCCG family.”

On his part, the representative of Emzor Pharmaceutical Limited, Mr. Bankole Asiwaju, who carried out mass deworming for participants at the fair, said most Nigerians are suffering from blood shortage as a result of excess worm in the body.

Asiwaju, who admonished people to get dewormed twice a year said that pregnant women can only deworm base on their doctor recommendation.

Some of the beneficiaries at the medical fair commended the organizer for the initiative, even as they disclosed that free medical mission was a regular thing at RCCG camp in Ogun State.

Mrs. Shola Adekoya, 70, said since she moved into the redeemed camp one month ago, she has been enjoying free healthcare among others.

Pastor Oluwadare Mayowa commended the organizer even as he urged other organizations to join the medical fair.
