Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has taken to his Twitter page to praise Nnamdi Kanu and other leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) following the establishment of the Eastern security network.
Fani-Kayode who reacted to the development said that he was impressed with Nnamdi Kanu and the Eastern Security Network.
According to him, the outfit is an army of volunteers that fights for freedom, protection, and the preservation of the people of the South-East region without pay.
Fani-Kayode further stated Nnamdi Kanu deserves the praise of every Igbo person for taking up the responsibility of securing the region which the state had failed to secure.
The former minister also pointed out that the establishment of the security network would be risky and dangerous for any tribal militia or ethnic terrorist group to attack the people of the region.
“I am impressed with @MaziNnamdiKanu’s Eastern Security Network. An army of volunteers that fights for the freedom, protection & preservation of its people without pay is far more dangerous &powerful than an army of ill-motivated professional soldiers with a corrupt & cowardly leadership, minimal inspiration and low morale who fight simply for their salaries. The former fight for future generations and the honor and integrity of their people whilst the latter fight only to preserve the nebulous status quo and their own near-empty stomachs.
“From today, with the launching of this network, it will be a very risky & dangerous thing for any tribal militia or ethnic terrorist group to attack the people of the East or to commit heinous crimes &barbaric acts of genocide against the Igbo race without grave consequences.
“Every Igbo man worth his salt ought to commend Kanu &thank him for this initiative. When the state refuses to protect u & ur people u have a duty & obligation before God to protect ourselves. This is a duty that the cowards & fence-sitters in our midst refuse to acknowledge,” Fani Kayode tweeted.
Further lauding the courage of those behind the establishment of Amotekun and the South-East security network initiative, Fani-Kayode advised South-South, Middle Belt, and the Northern region to set up a similar regional security outfit.
.”I salute the courage of those behind the Eastern Security Network initiative just as I salute the courage of those that established Amotekun for the South West. I urge the leaders &people of the Middle Belt, South-South &the North to set up similar regional security outfits to secure their lives and properties against the bandits, terrorists, murderous fanatics, and men of blood and violence that have plagued our land and that wish to wipe us all from the face of the earth,” He wrote.
Recall that Afriupdate had earlier broke the news of the establishment of the South Eastern security network.
In a comeback broadcast on Saturday (ongoing as at the time of publishing this report), Kanu, the self-exiled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) stressed that the decision was out of his passion to efficiently secure the South-South and South-Eastern regions of Nigeria.
