His death was confirmed in a statement by Garba Shehu, spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The President described Mr. Odekunle as a valued friend and a towering intellectual giant with impeccable knowledge of his chosen academic field, criminology, and in such others as governance and administration.

“His death is very saddening,” said the president. “His lasting contributions, as well as his charisma, wit and sense of humor, will be sorely missed by all us, his friends and associates. May the Almighty repose his soul.”

Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, seemingly said. “A good friend of this government just passed on at 6:30pm”, the SGF said at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing.

Odekunle was Nigeria’s first Professor of Criminology.

Meanwhile, Afriupdate Nigeria recalls that Primate Ayodele, the General Overseer of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual church earlier prophesied that another top aide of President Buhari will die, “which will make him cry one more time”.

Could this be the prophecy? Or is there more to come?
