Biafra: ‘We’ll Fish You Out, Deal With You Like Terrorists’, CP Tells IPOB Members

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Joseph Mukan, has warned members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to leave the state, as forces have been put in place to “fish them out”, Afriupdate reports.

This was disclosed Thursday by the spokesperson for the state command, Nnamdi Omoni after the commissioner met with Divisional Police Officers and other tactical units in the state.

Mukan warned that members of the group will be dealt with as terrorists if they do not stop activities in the state or “relocate” from the state.

He reminds the group members that it has been outlawed by both federal and state governments.

Mukan said, “The CP further warns members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra to relocate from the state as machineries have been put in place to fish them out and deal with them as a terrorist group.

“Again, the CP, for the umpteenth time, wishes to reiterate emphatically that Rivers State is not an IPOB state and will deal decisively with any group that carries out activities under that guise or any guise whatsoever.

“IPOB has been outlawed by both the federal and state governments and to that extent it is non-existent anywhere else, including Rivers State.”

Recall that the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday signed an executive order reinforcing the ban on the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra’s activities.

Governor Wike said while Rivers remained the home to all tribes and ethnic nationalities, it was “opposed to the presence and activities of the legally proscribed and anarchic IPOB and whatever it stands for in Rivers”.

Wike, in a statewide broadcast, said the government acknowledged the enormous contributions of non-indigenes to the political, social and economic development of the state but would neither accept nor allow any individual or group from within and outside to violate the peace, endanger lives and property under any guise in the State.
