Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu has alleged that the Nigerian government de-radicalizing and rehabilitating repentant Boko Haram terrorist group members “is part of a Fulani ethnic plot to take over Nigeria”.
50 years after the civil war ended in Nigeria, the struggle to keep the dream of a separate Biafra state alive continues, including through a relentless churning out of fiction as facts on social media.
Self-exiled Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), through his known Twitter handle on Thursday accused the Muhammadu Buhari-led government of ‘romancing terrorists’.
He as well tagged the Nigerian presidency “Islamist”.

“Afghanistan and Iraq have one thing in common – they once considered their terrorists ‘repentant’ until they literally took over the reins of central government,” Kanu opined.
“The ISLAMIST @NGRPresident’s stubborn romance with terrorists is part of a Fulani ethnic plot to take over Nigeria.”

So far, approximately 600 former Boko Haram members who voluntarily laid down their arms, have been trained at the Federal Government’s de-radicalization and rehabilitation facilities located at Gombe, in Gombe state.
However, the Boko Haram terrorist group which has factions, have continued to unleash mayhem on Nigerian communities, with the latest being the devilish killing of over 70 farmers in Borno State last Saturday.
At least 36,000 people have been killed and 2 million displaced since Boko Haram launched its jihadi insurgency in northeast Nigeria in 2009.
While President Buhari promised to quench the scourge, deadly attacks are still being launched by the terrorists and his 5-year old administration has been finding it difficult to contain their offensive operations.
