BBOG’s Aisha Yesufu Calls El-Rufai Monster, Withdraw Presidential Support

Bring Back Our Girls campaigner, Aisha Yesufu described the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai as a monster. Yesufu made the comment while responding to a tweet on Twitter that questioned her desire to see El-Rufai become President of Nigeria.

A Twitter user had screenshot a tweet of Yesufu in 2016, which she tweeted in support of El-Rufai becoming Nigeria’s President. While addressing the circumstances that led to the tweet, Yesufu revealed that she was fond of El-Rufai, and even almost joined his governorship campaign.

Prior to El-Rufai becoming the governor of Kaduna State, Yesufu said she was a supporter of the former minister. Aisha stated that she was rooting for El-Rufai and wanted to join his campaign trail, but her husband stopped her.

In the 2016 tweet, Yesufu had stated that, “The day El-Rufai decides to run for Presidency, he has in me number 1 volunteer worker. We need leaders with vision.”

In her response to the Tweet, Yesufu stated that in 2011 or 2012, she advised El-Rufai to run, but El-Rufai has become a monster, so he has lost her support, He was my candidate and I rooted for him. In short I was going to be on his campaign trail until my husband stopped me.

“Around 2011 or 2012 I told him he had to run. He became a monster and no freaking way now.” She stated
