To mitigate the effect of the recent flood disasters in Kebbi State, over 3,000 bags of rice (50kg) have been donated to victims across the state.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Yahaya Sarki, the donation, made by Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, in Birnin Kebbi, worth over N81m was handed over to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, retired AIG Chris Okey Ezike, Offor said the gesture was the modest contribution by the foundation to alleviate the suffering of the intended beneficiaries.

According to Offor the gesture was also aimed at helping Kebbi State to mitigate the challenges posed by the recent flood disasters across the state.
He added that, for over 25 years, he has shared tremendous friendship and fellowship with Governor Bagudu, and as well as engaged in mutually beneficial activities to bringing succour to humanity.

Governor Bagudu who was elated with the gesture, said it cannot come at a better time than now.

The Governor described the gesture by Sir Emeka Offor as wonderful which, according to him, will go a long way in complementing ongoing efforts to assist the flood victims.

The governor called on well meaning individuals nationwide to emulate the kind gesture of Sir Emeka Offor.

The governor was delighted that the rice donated to the state was locally processed in Anambra State indicating that the agricultural policy of President Muhammdu Buhari has come to fruition.
