Enugu State on Friday recorded it’s first two new cases of the novel coronavirus making Enugu the first state in the South-East to be infected by the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19), Afriupdate reports.
This latest development was announced by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night.

The health agency also added that 8 new cases of the virus have been reported in Lagos and 1 in Edo State, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 81.

As part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus, the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari has closed all land borders in Nigeria for four weeks over the outbreak of coronavirus.
This was contained in an announcement made at the evening hour of Monday, by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on coronavirus (COVID-19), Boss Mustapha.
The vast majority of people recover from the new virus in a matter of weeks, but the outbreak has caused more than 26,000 deaths worldwide.
