The Speaker of the Edo state House of Assembly, Frank Okiye, has reportedly tested positive to Coronavirus.
This was confirmed by the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, on Wednesday while briefing journalists.

According to Shaibu, the state is taking measures to tackle further spread of the deadly virus in the state.
The governor of the state Godwin Obaseki has, however, gone into self-isolation.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have been advised to observe high respiratory hygiene and social distancing as staying at least six feet away from other people lessens one’s chances of catching the virus.
As at Wednesday morning, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria had risen to 46 following the announcement of two new cases in Osun and Lagos by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
