Heartbreaking photos of Cholera patients being treated in a poor environment in Katsina

As Katsina state currently battles an outbreak of Cholera, heartbreaking photos of patients including children being treated in very poor conditions in and outside hospital facilities have been shared online.

The photos shared online show the patients lying on the ground and on mats as they were being offered Intravenous fluids hung on trees at the Cholera Outbreak Response Centre in Funtua.

According to the Media, the lack of hospital beds forced the health workers to treat the patients in the open air under trees.
