Gbadamosi disagrees with Fayose over comment on Bode George

Candidate of Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the senatorial bye-election, Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi, has faulted former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, over negative comments on erstwhile Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George.

Fayose had, during the inauguration of the PDP Campaign Committee for the Lagos East Senatorial bye-election on Tuesday, urged the national headquarters of the party to send George to political retirement for the Lagos Chapter to make progress.

Although Fayose canvassed support and votes for Gbadamosi, he emphasised that George should rather be a support stand for the younger ones in the party instead of dragging positions with them.

“This Lagos senatorial bye-election is for PDP to take if we are ready to take it,” Fayose said.

He, however, said that before PDP could win any election in Lagos, the party must first separate the wheat from the chaff.

Gbadamosi, in a telephone chat with The Guardian, said he totally disagreed with Fayose, saying that the views of the former governor of Ekiti State do not represent his interest and will not add value to the campaign of the party for the bye-election.

According to Gbadamosi: “Fayose spoke for himself and not for me or the party. To think he could disrespect elders and expect me to align is not acceptable.”

Also, Tajudeen Abinuwaiye, in a statement, said Fayose was becoming increasingly unstable and had reached a deep bend.

Abinuwaiye said the group was equally disappointed with some elders who sat through Fayose’s obscene display and vacuous diatribes without chastising him immediately.
