The government of Tanzania has set aside 681 million Tanzanian shillings (about 292,800 U.S. dollars) for renovation of livestock markets across the country in a move aimed at boosting output, an official said on Sunday.

Felix Nandonde, the director of production and marketing department in the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, announced the renovation of the livestock markets when he inspected a livestock market in Tabora region.

He said the renovation of the livestock markets was aimed at improving output and improving collection of government revenue from the markets.

Nandonde said the renovation will focus on construction of wells along with feeding and drinking stations in the markets.
