
Kenya’s health ministry on Tuesday reported 255 new COVID-19 infections from a sample size of 6,305 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’ total number of confirmed cases to 248,770.
In the same period, 7 patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the number of virus-related deaths in the East African country to 5,116.
Kenya has seen a dip in daily new COVID-19 infections recently, having experienced a steady surge in the virus between July-August.’
The country is currently undertaking a nationwide vaccination exercise in efforts to contain further spread of the virus.
By Tuesday, a total of 3,664,721 vaccines have been administered across the country. Of these, total first doses were 2,771,051 while second doses were 893,670.
