French President Macron condemns violence in Chad

French President Emmanuel Macron has on Tuesday condemned the violence seen in Chad.

Macron called for the return of constitutional order and respect for public freedoms.

The French President also said that they support Chad’s transition and stability.

Macron said this as he hosted Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi at  the Elysee Palace in Paris for a meeting.

At least two people were killed and 27 injured as demonstrators took to the streets on Tuesday demanding a return to civilian rule after the military took control following President Idriss Deby’s death last week.
