Flights to and from Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport have resumed following a disruption caused by an early morning incident Wednesday wherein a plane veered off the runway due to bad weather.
Vianney Luggya, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) spokesperson, said in a tweet that the main runway had now been reopened for flights.
“Please note that Entebbe International Airport’s main runway (17/35) is now open and flights have been given clearance to resume. We thank you all for your patience,” Luggya said.
A RwandAir plane veered off the runway, interrupting regional and international flights.
“All the passengers disembarked safely and the situation is under control,” UCAA said earlier in a tweet after the incident.
