The Tunisian National Railways Company (SNCFT) announced Friday that 33 of the 36 injured in the train collision on Thursday night had left the hospitals, while three are still under medical observation.

“One injured is still at Charles Nicolle Hospital in Tunis and the other two are at the trauma and burns center in Ben Arous,” the SNCFT said on its facebook page.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of the SNCFT Belgacem Taya said that the investigation launched to determine the causes of the accident revealed that human error was behind the accident, according to local private radio network Jawhara FM.

“One driver of the trains exceeded the maximum authorized speed,” Taya added, saying it caused the collision of this train with another train, which was stopped at the station.
