MONEY HEIST is confirmed to return to Netflix soon, but perceptive fans may have already exposed one of next season’s biggest twists.
The Professor finally came face-to-face with his fiercest adversary yet at the end of Money Heist’s fourth season. When the thrilling Spanish thriller returns to Netflix next year, some viewers are convinced they will finally discover a huge secret about Alicia Sierra.
Netflix have officially announced Money Heist season five is on the way, and the cast and crew recently returned to set to finish the thrilling series.
The wildly successful Spanish crime drama will conclude after the next instalment, and will undoubtedly feature some explosive twists and turns.
At the end of the series’ most recent season, the Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) faced off against former inspector Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).
After infiltrating his hide-out, Sierra confronted the criminal mastermind at gunpoint, leaving fans gripped to find out if she’ll pull the trigger at the start of season five.
Meanwhile, the Professor’s band of robbers declared war on the police following the devastating loss of fan favourite Nairobi (Alba Flores).
Season five is sure to take some unexpected turns, and speculation is already begun to circulate around the unpredictable and sadistic Alicia Sierra.
Many fans are convinced her striking resemblance to Tatiana (Diana Gómez) could be the key, with some even suggesting they could be the same person.
Furthermore, there have been endless rumours about Alicia’s heavy pregnancy.
While some have naturally assumed Alicia will give birth at the beginning of season five, interrupting her stand-off with the Professor, others have suggested she could be faking the whole thing.
A subsection of the Money Heist fanbase took to Reddit to debate this peculiar theory.
With the aid of some keen analysis of the finale’s final moments, this particular viewer was unconvinced the heavily pregnant Alicia would be able to make it into the Professor’s hideout.
Redditor SamLFC89 posted: “The one thing that confuses me. When going to the hideout the Professor and Marseille have to climb up a very closed in ladder.”
“That means the around eight months pregnant Sierra had to climb the ladder as well? This may mean she is faking the pregnancy.”
As the episode conveniently cuts directly to Alicia’s surprise entrance into the hideout, viewers didn’t witness what could have been an awkward entrance.
Upon closer inspection, the sole entrance into the Professor’s hidden lair would have been far too difficult for someone as heavily pregnant as the former inspector to maneuver.
Could this mean Alicia actually has a fake bump that she can detach and reattach at will?
The image is slightly ridiculous, but this fan was certainly convinced by the theory.
However, other viewers’ responses chalked it up to one of the infamously convoluted show’s many plot holes and inconsistencies.
One argued: “I would highly doubt she is faking it. There may have been a secondary way in or something like that.”
While another fan explained: “Logic seems to be beyond this season of La Casa De Papel, I wouldn’t read too much into it.”
Whatever the case, fans are still keeping a watchful eye over the elusive inspector as Money Heist heads into its fifth and final season.
