“It’s our right, we’re collecting our father’s money” – Youths protesting against EFCC in Oyo explains reason for internet fraud (Video)A video of some Nigerian youths confidently defending internet fraud, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo”, has gone viral.

The young men recently came out in their numbers to protest against recent raids carried out by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Oyo state and called for the disbandment of the anti-graft agency.

One of the aggrieved youths who spoke to newsmen during the protest, said they worked for the money they make from internet fraud and are also collecting their father’s money.

He also asked how the anti-graft agency wants them to survive and feed their families when there’s no job in the country.

“We worked for the money, we are collecting our father’s money. No work in this Nigeria, how do you want us to survive?, we want EFCC to end”, he said in part.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has vowed to do its best to locate, investigate and arrest anyone causing economic unrest.

This came in days after citizens were seen taking to the streets to protest against the activities and methods.

Here is what the commission had to say about the protest on their official Instagram page;

“Busy dey steal our dough. See how my mama just dey cry. The hunger don reach her throat. God, abeg make she no die. Even if na small chau for the bowl.
Okay, i dey see yahoo boiz I be like, wetin dey sup ? For my area na so-so noise Anytime the bah drop. How you go thief person money Dey chop Go club, flex every. Still dey happy ontop?

“Naija na our country Na only am we get o If we use corruption finish am. Where we go go when e set o? Make we put heads together. Join hands, even legs o To kick corruption out. This option na de best o.”
