Camila Cabello took to social media with a lengthy apology for “horrible and hurtful language” she used when she was younger.
Racist Comments: In a post shared on her twitter and instagram stories, the Señorita singer wrote, “When I was younger, I used language that I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever. I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it”.
Racist Comments: Moving forward, Cabello plans to use the platform she’s been given to continue advocating for equality and to prove that her past comments do not define her. “The truth is I was embarrassingly ignorant and unaware,” she said. “I use my platform to speak out about injustice and inequality and I’ll continue doing that.”
