Stranger Things season 4 – After only a few months of its season 3 debut, Netflix has posted a cryptic new teaser trailer for the fourth season of Stranger Things. The footage below begins with the series’ synthwave opening theme before showcasing a neon 4 to convey a fourth season is on its way. However, the footage cuts to the upside-down as a cryptic line of text reads: “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.”

Stranger Things 3 released in July this year and ended with Will and his family moving away from the smalltown after one too many deaths. This new footage suggests the next season will no longer be centered on the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have always stated that Stranger Things was planned to go on for four to five seasons, meaning this could very well be the series finale of the 80s inspired Netflix Original. However, this won’t be the end for the Duffer Brothers and Netflix, has the duo recently signed a multi-year film and series overall deal with the service.

Stranger Things season 4 – “The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what the Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”
