Ruby Rose Reveals Why She Left Batwoman

American actress Ruby Rose has shared that she was fired from The CW’s Batwoman after being seriously injured on set.

The actress who starred as the title superhero character in the show’s first season revealed this in a series of Instagram stories. She alleged that the role was recast last year after two herniated discs required her to undergo surgery.

She also revealed that she had been threatened by former Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Peter Roth. She alleged that he had threatened to replace her as she had “just lost the studio millions (by getting injured on his set).”

Rose claimed that a crew member got third-degree burns and a production assistant was “left quadriplegic.” In her list of allegations, she added that the  Batwoman showrunner refused to suspend film during the pandemic until local government mandates shut down the set.

Last year, Deadline reported that the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia was investigating a former production assistant’s allegation that they were paralyzed after an incident on the Batwoman set.

Rose, in turn, requested that fans stop asking when she would return to the series, saying she wouldn’t return for any amount of money.

Denying Rose’s allegations in a statement, Warner Bros. Television Group responded that Ruby Rose had been fired from Batwoman following multiple complaints about her behaviour.

“Despite the revisionist history that Ruby Rose is now sharing online aimed at the producers, the cast and crew, the network, and the Studio, the truth is that Warner Bros. Television had decided not to exercise its option to engage Ruby for season two of BATWOMAN based on multiple complaints about workplace behaviour that were extensively reviewed and handled privately out of respect for all concerned,” the company said.
