Amber Heard's Abuse Claims Contradicts Evidence
Actor Amber Heard arrives in the courtroom at the Fairfax County Circuit Court in Fairfax, Va., Thursday, April 28, 2022. Actor Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife actor Amber Heard for libel in Fairfax County Circuit Court after she wrote an op-ed piece in The Washington Post in 2018 referring to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” (Michael Reynolds/Pool Photo via AP)

Jurors were shown images of Amber Heard’s unblemished back at a movie premiere the day after she testified that Johnny Depp kneeled on her back and severely abused her in a Tokyo hotel room.

“You agree there are no bruises or physical marks?” Camille Vasquez, Depp’s defense attorney, asked. She replied, “Not that I can see.”

Amber Heard was given a series of photos taken of her at an event the night before she testified that her ex-husband had assaulted her so hard that she may have broken her nose.

“Your nose doesn’t appear to be injured in any of these pictures, does it Ms. Heard?” asked Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez on cross-examination. “I’m wearing makup,” she replied.

“And makeup covers up swelling?” pressed Depp’s attorney. “Makeup will not cover up swelling but ice will,” Heard replied. “Normally the swelling after that kind of injury is not as bad as you would imagine.”

According to Heard, Depp accused her of flirting with another woman while the couple attended the Met Gala in May 2014. After being hit in the face, she stated she had a swelled, discolored nose.

Amber Heard resumed her evidence in the libel lawsuit launched by her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp, on Monday after taking a week break.

The trial is now in its fifth week, and jurors have seen many images of Heard purporting to show the violence she claims she endured from Depp during their relationship.

According to Heard, Depp allegedly hurled a phone at her face. In May of 2016, Heard filed for divorce two days after the altercation.

She won a temporary restraining order during a court hearing a few days later, and was widely photographed leaving the courthouse with an obvious red mark on her right cheek.

Police officers detain an opposition supporter who along with others attempted to block streets in the capital Yerevan on May 17, 2022. – Since mid-April, opposition parties have been staging rallies demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation over his handling of a territorial dispute with Azerbaijan. Arch-foes Armenia and Azerbaijan fought two wars — in 2020 and in the 1990s — over the long-contested region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Six-weeks of fighting in autumn 2020 claimed more than 6,500 lives and ended with a Russian-brokered ceasefire agreement. Under the deal, Armenia ceded swathes of territory it had controlled for decades, and Russia deployed some 2,000 peacekeepers to oversee the truce. (Photo by Karen MINASYAN / AFP)
