Wash hair regularly with lukewarm water
Hair dandruff easily makes the hair dirty. It is recommended to regularly wash and gently scrub dandruff infested hair with, not cold or hot water but lukewarm water. This helps the scalp to stay hydrated. The steam from the water also helps to open up the pores of the scalp, allowing it to retain oil and moisture. Wash hair with baking soda
Baking soda is a convenient, quick and easy to find remedy to help rid the hair of dandruff. It proved to act as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, reduce scaling and itchiness
The substance contains antifungal properties which can attack hair dandruff, according to Healthline. The results from the conducted study by Healthline shows that baking soda was able to completely inhibit 79% of specimens with strains of fungus that cause skin infections, after seven days.
For best results, it is recommended to apply baking soda to the hair while shampooing. Leave it for a minute or two, then rinse out thoroughly. To get baking soda, all you need is to find a confectionary shop that sells baking products or a shop that sells. Viola, you have your baking soda.

Massage scalp with Coconut oil
Well-known for the numerous health benefits it provides, coconut oil also serves as a natural remedy for hair dandruff. The oil contains properties that help to improve skin hydration and minimise skin dryness, including the scalp. It is recommended to massage the scalp with coconut oil daily, or four times weekly, depending on how severe the hair dandruff is. Coconut oil is an effective mineral oil for overall skin dryness treatment. Undiluted coconut oil can be bought or drained by oneself. To prepare coconut oil yourself:
- Chop and grate the coconut
- Squeeze out the water and place it into a bowl
- Boil and sieve the remains
- Allow to cool off and use a spoon to scoop the cooked remains, separating the oil from the waste.
Apply aloe vera
Applying Aloe Vera frequently helps treat hair dandruff. The substance is a type of succulent that helps to smoothen the skin and treat skin conditions like burns and cold sores.
The antifungal and antibacterial properties of aloe vera can reduce inflammation in the scalp, thereby, reducing the secretion of hair dandruff on the scalp. It also helps to control the fungal infections that cause hair loss from the scalp, giving the hair a more firm root. For best results, it is recommended to apply aloe vera directly to the scalp regularly or mix it with hair cream.
