You don’t wash your face before bed
At the end of a long, tiring day, you just want to crawl under your covers and go straight to sleep. Suddenly, your alarm rings in the morning, and though you don’t want to, you’re gearing up to do life all again.
However, simply because you can’t see all that dirt and grime that your face accumulated during the day’s hustle doesn’t mean it’s not there. And since you don’t notice it everyday and you don’t address it, the dirt keeps getting ingrained in your skin, changing your complexion, causing inflammation and, the absolute worst, breakouts.
So, before you hit the sack at night, make sure to stop at your bathroom and give your face a wash.

You do not change your pillowcases frequently enough
Even after you get the whole ‘washing your face every night’ routine done, your pillowcases are still going to get dirty. Our towels still get dirty, though we only use them when we’re clean. Same goes for our pillowcases.

P.acnes are the bacteria that cause acne. If they are present on your face, then their chances of spreading are high. They spread to your pillow when your face touches it and then spread back to your face when your pillow comes in contact with another part of your face.

Washing your pillowcases regularly goes hand in hand with wash your face every night because if you don’t, then one way or the other, invisible bacteria will find its way back to your face and it will be like you never even washed your face at all.
Satin pillowcases are advised because they prevent moisture from building up, overnight breakouts, and wrinkles. Switch out your pillowcases at least once a week if washing every few days is too much work.

You hate a little too much on pimples
Everyone hates pimples. They have terrible timing and zero sense of placement.
Who needs an inflamed spot smack-dab in the middle of his or her forehead when you have an important presentation or a hot date the next day?
Wanting it gone is definitely not bad, but the way you decide to get rid of it makes all the difference. Popping it is just going to leave a scar in replacement. It could also lead an infection caused by bacteria that could enter the wound. Next thing you know, you’re either searching for creams and soaps to get rid of dark spots (that you caused) or antibiotics to treat an infection (that you caused). And all because you couldn’t stand an annoying pimple and failed to deal with it the right way.

You don’t know your skin type
Knowing your skin type is just as important as knowing that you want your skin to look good.
There are so many different skincare routines and products out there and just because it’s working for popular celebrities does not mean it’s going to work for you.
Someone else might have dry skin so, extensively moisturising lotions and creams could be working wonders for them, but you can’t have extremely oily skin and expect those sorts of creams to work the same magic on you. You might just end up looking greasy.
Also, harshly exfoliating dry skin can disrupt the balance of moisture in your skin.
Therefore, instead of just going with whatever, examine and observe your skin. If you’re on the oily side, exfoliating could be very effective. For the dry side, then you should go for substances that hydrate your skin.

You don’t give your face a break
Everyday, we come in contact with hundreds of objects. Hundreds. Doorknobs, car keys, desks, boxes and so on. These objects contain millions of microbes and potential allergens.
You might be wondering what microbes and allergens are and how they have anything to do with your skin’s glow. Well, microbes are tiny organisms that can’t be seen with the human eye. Examples are microscopic fungi and bacteria.
An allergen, on the other hand, is any substance that can cause an allergic reaction.
Now when you come in contact with these objects and then touch your face, you’re transferring all that to it. I know that it’s something we do subconsciously, but like all bad habits, it’s something we should quit. It’s not like we get to wash our faces multiple times a day so, not touching it will be the best route to take.
Instead have a clean handkerchief on you at all times, and anytime you feel the need to itch your eye, rub your jaw, or wipe off sweat, use your handkerchief!
