Nike has unveiled its Adapt Huarachesneaker, seeing the classic 1991 shoe updated with brand new technologies. The stand-out feature is the addition of the FitAdapt self-lacing technology, which is run from a midfoot motor and is controlled by the Nike Adapt app.
This app — which can also be driven by the Apple Watch or Siri — comes with a number of preset fit recommendations depending on foot type and activity. Additionally, the app allows you to choose your favorite color for the sneaker’s LED light.
The sneaker’s aesthetic also references the original Huarache, with minimal branding across the sneaker. Another influence is references to aquatic themes, including colorways and the shoe’s upper, as a nod to the silhouette’s original water ski-inspired shape.
The first colorways of the Adapt Huarache sneaker are set to arrive on September 13, and will be available from select retailers as well as the SNKRS and SNEAKRS apps.
